I saw Wee Willie Harris live at the Starlight club, Blackburn, Lancs. sometime in the 60's and he was really entertaining, I thoroughly enjoyed his show.

The original tune before Don Lang did it .Don Lang`s version took over from this as skiffle was short lived . The Engine in the first clip is Coronation breaking the speed record for a steam loco .It did 112mph .

willies still rockin worked with him early this year . good to work with and a good laugh. luke of the sandaigos

@alexscott still gigging, look around Youtube for recent clips, a great guy !

Great guitar playing, no effects pedals, no echo just the sound itself

@maolchalium A year or two back I met him with Chas McDevitt in a Norfolk village hall. Played the washboard for Chas. Fame after 55 years!

I was one of the dancers in the pictures clips we were the Harlequin teenagers and we did two shows it was great to meet all the stars of the fifties and we chatted with Marion Ryan who was a great girl and had a lot of time to talk to people and also Rosemary squires and Micheal Holiday those were the days at the start of Rock And Roll.

I think he's still going. He did have a show called Skiff-a-Billy......M. Wikipe dia Wee Willie Harris (born Charles William Harris, 25 March 1933, Bermondsey, London) is a British rock and roll singer. He is best known for his energetic stage shows and TV performances since the 1950s, when he was known as "Britain's wild man of rock 'n' roll".[1]

What happened to Wee Willie Harris

my mistake, jim dale is fine and very well

Is jim Dale not well then??

jim dale is still alive, just.. I use to watch this when it was first broadcast back in late 1957 when i was a 14 year old schoolboy, life was good back then, you had to put those old tv sets on for about 10mins before the valves warmed up and you got a picture. Who would have thought 50 years later we would be watching this on a computer, its like going into a time machine

anyone know the chords/tabs for this?

Crikey, you are going back some years. Didn't Wally W do a series with 'Pussy cat Willum'? I remember Kent, also 'did' the wrestling. Wasn't keen on Stubbs. Man we are showing our age!

Any 1 remember a Brum Skiffle Group called 'The Dominettes'.Original member was 'Steve Gibbons', who later went on 2 form another Brum Group, 'The Uglys' in 61' ish.Any info gratefully accepted.New 2 site+ Love this version. Thanx 4 Posting.X

What memories, a total hotch potch of a programme but 50 years ago we thought it was wonderful. Pete Murray,Jo Douglas and unbelievably Freddie Mills the boxer all introduced it.I can remember Don Lang & his Frantic Five, Jim Dale, Adam Faith and The Vipers Skiffle group with Wally Whyton, it was very amateurish and when Oh Boy and Thank your Lucky Stars came along it's audience suffered. Anyone remember Cool for Cats with Kent Walton,Una Stubbs and Glen Mason?

still got His 78's better than all this modern headache stuff...

scarie how time goes but good these sites...

You can actually hear some Randy Bachman type guitar in there.

1957, gosh, I remember the show, black & white BBC ? I was 12... seeing those faces is a trip ...I wonder if any of them are still with us ....♥♥♥♥♥♫♪♫♠«â™ªâ™«

Great! Brings back memories also of Freddie Mills and his murder

As I remember from my Learn to Play Skiffle book by Bob Cort the guitaristS were Ken Sykora-Diz Disley & Ike Isaacs----- have a feeling that the baSS PLAYER WAS Big Ron Ward
