m1903a1 should replace the standard m1903 and be in around 4 place and the mosin nagant should replace the lee enfield

@AngoMangos that's why you take it out and clean it and the kar98k would get stuck ANY bolt would get stuck if you used like what 50 year old corrosive ammo

@AngoMangos besides, what they want here in are guns with legends behind them, and the Mosin Nagant was one.

@AngoMangos a peasant army of 20 million Russian conscripts found it to be good enough, millions Chinese soldiers used it from the 1920's till the 1950's found it good enough.

@iamnobodyism The Mosin Nagant is unreliable. After shooting it, and heating the gun, the bolt would get sticky. The average person would have trouble trying to rebolt it.

"If you hear it fire, you're already dead" Damn man. Now how you gonna hear it, but you already dead? "Easy. Cause you alive when you die, and you dead when you hear it" But choo dead when you hear it. How you gonna be dead and hear it? "Cause you alive when you get shot" Damn...that's some quantum shit! (Spoof of Scary Movie 3)

2:34 Now that's how you aim with Springfield

@MrRamil678 the amount of gunpowder in the .30-06 is more.

Can someone tell me if the 7.62x63(30-06) is more powerfull than the 7.62x51(308. Win) although both are the same lenght??

@Treblaine Mosin Nagant should be here instead

@iamnobodyism In fact, I wont be suprised to find this weapon in the hands of Ingush or Chechen rebels today.

I dont agree with this. The Springfield 03 for all it's fine qualities doesn't deserve a place in the Top Ten, it's too similar to the Mauser Ge-98. The Mosin-Nagant should be here at No.8 instead. The Mosin-Nagant was an excellent weapon that served the Tsar, then went on to fight the Russian Civil War and the Soviet Great Patriotic War creating legends like Vasily Zaitsev. The Chinese then took this rifle to Korea and created legends like sniper Zhang Taofang.

@iamnobodyism The Mosin Nagant's story didn't end in Korea, it served right the way up to the Vietnam War. The VC/VPA super-sniper "Cobra" who eventually fell to the US Marine sniper Charles Hathcock was most likely used a Mosin-Nagant rifle.

@mexicanelitesniper Yeah, pretty much that IS it! It is not enough to differentiate the weapons by saying one is "slightly smoother" in any aspect. That's like saying the FN FAL and British SLR are different enough to deserve separate entries. Also, merely FIVE years separate their initial manufacture (Springfield 1903 had a late stage cartridge change, as did Mauser 98), shortages meant German soldiers were armed with Mauser 98 at almost the same time US Troops got the Springfield 1903.

@Treblaine well, the mauser 98 has a smoother bolt action and its been around for about 10 years longer then the mauser 98 so that pretty much sums it up

@southparkfan2717 Different roles, they are STILL the same weapon! This list is ONLY looking at Combat Rifles, for general infantry, not any application as specialist sniper weapons.

@Treblaine Because they served different roles. The Mauser was the standard combat rifle for the Germans in both World Wars, by WWII the Springfield was a sniper rifle not the standard issued firearm (except for the Marines who fought on Guadalcanal, God Bless Them).

@STL308 I like the video, not your comment. :(

@vl5150 Nagant should be on the list.

What the heck is that guy doing at 2:34 ? I hope he isn't training those soldiers how to shoot a rifle LoL

I cherish my 1903 Springfield, but it does not belong in this group. Produced in too few numbers for WWI and replaced by the M1 Garand for WWII it was a star of the interwar period and great depression. The 98 Mauser eclipsed the 1903 in innovation and service length. Both US rifles of WWI (M1903 and M1917) were derived from the Mauser design so the Mauser alone deserves merit here. The mag cutoff is the only real functional difference between the two. Still a great rifle though.

@ginjaninja1988 What differences? The action IS the rifle! A slightly different shaped stock does not a unique rifle make. It doesn't incorporate any significant features of the Krag-Jorgensen, like the unique magazine. List the specific changes.
