M1 GARAND....THE BEST...
youtube.com/watch?v=x9AwgIkSRe I
Listen to how audible the ping sound is in REAL life
youtube.com/watch?v=vHX GAXqFkz4&feature=related
or this video, its virtually impossible to hear, even at close range, where the mic is.
@MrBigBearBrown Its not loud at all outdoors (battlefield), just ask any WWII vet, or WWII re-enactor, or hell, anyone who knows Garands well. You just dont hear it, just see it pop out, with no sound.
Ping: Extremely destinctive? yes. Extremely audible? no
Dont believe everything you hear and see on TV kids ;)
I really doubt that ping is all that loud...
@2020skip Exactly and they go and have all the inexperienced people out there believe it ws a flaw in combat, which it wasnt. Even IF the enemy heard it, they'd more than likely use that as a reason to run away and bridge more distance between you and them, since bolt actions are horrible at close range compared to semi automatic rifles. The ping being a flaw of the design in battle is not true, the M-1 has no flaws for its era.
I have fired many rounds with the M1 in matches, and cannot recall ever hearing the "ping" as the clip was ejected from the M1's firing not more then 3 feet on either side of me. I think this is sheer nonsense, put forward by guys who eject clips in their living rooms, and listen to them bang off the coffee table.

@1ohtaf1 Just give up man. LoneWolf051 has more logic on the situation than you do, just watch the videos. Stubborn bastard.
6 dead germans, one wound, one missed shot,
PING!
one happy Joe Leibgot (from BOB)
PING!
hes totaly an egg
"the guy at '':' looks like an egg."
I laughed so hard!
pls can you thumbs up this comment i'm new
@1ohtaf1 Nope, not at all....BUT it does mimmick the density of flesh and its meant to show how big the wound cavity would be in a human, though a REAL human body being hit would open up as big as it does in the clay but since humans are 70% water, the wound cavity instantly closes back up, and all you'd see afterwards is just a small entry hole . The clay represents the damage and shock a human body would encnounter at the very instant of impact, and the clay holds that instant moment of impact
@LoneWolf051 Humans are not made from clay.....
@1ohtaf1 And the .30 Carbine stops in less than 8 inches in the block of clay, as demonstrated in the video......that you refused to watch.
@LoneWolf051 I have saw multiple shots of rifles and pistols in balistics gel, wax and even water. Rifles tend to explode less than a foot, 9mm and .45s tend to go 6- 12 times deeper before stopping.
@1ohtaf1 Where do you get "video games" from? I'm taking about my hunting trips in Northern Michigan every summer. You're going in circles and putting words in my mouth. And watch videos of 30-06 being shot into blocks of ballistics gel, they go in about 2 feet then stop, and remain in 1 piece (sometimes bent) but NEVER "explode"
And you proved my point, a Carbine round expends all its energy into a small area (6-8 inch penetration), while the 30-06 expends it gradually throughout the channel
@LoneWolf051 On the contrary, if you jump into a pool bely flopping you will diffapate all your energy into a small area, but that is because you only have very little energy, if you jump off a bridge at 300meters and go head first, you will die and go much deeper, but the first 6 inches water has recieved more energy than the first 6 inches of water when you belly flopped.
@LoneWolf051 Its streamlined and meets little resistance, but once it hits a different medium, it will fragment and explode. The reason why your .30-06 round never fragmented in the animal is because you hunt animals in video games and they do not have balistic caculations that equate to real life. In the game and according to your logic a .45 Auto will have more chance of taking down a charging elephant at close range than a .30-06.
@1ohtaf1 If you bellyflop off a diving board into a pool you wont go very deep, and create a violent, large splash. If you jumpe off a roof and streamline yourself headfirst, you'll go far deeper under, and create a smaller splash.
@1ohtaf1 I've never had a 30-06 fragment is any animal i've hunted, the most it's done is tumble and come out sideways. Dont forget te amount of drag depends on the shape of the bullet, a pointed one will encounter very little drag, since its streamlined, and creates a neater channel than a .30Cabine, which moves slower and lodges itself inside the target expanding and exploding, while the 30-06 (while producing extreme hydrostatic shock) passes THROUGH the target, and still has alot of energy.
@LoneWolf051 If you slowly go into a swimming pool it does not hurt, if you jump of a bridge into the sea, you will die. Why? Because since you are faster, once you enter a different medium there will be alot higher stresses on your body, same as a bullet will enfure more stresses as it passes into another medium
@LoneWolf051 No, for a .22 the best is the torso, on the head it has a tendancy of bouncing off. That statment of yours proves once again your limited knowledge. The reason pistol rounds are blunt is because since they are slow they need as much help to transfer that energy into the target. A rifle round is fast and once it hits a different medium it will fragment and explode. |
