It's kinda sad, that he imitates the sounds of camera shutters, preserving everything for eternity and for the eye, and chain saws, destroying everything, him, too, in the end..two of the three human sounds he knows...says a lot about our world and the perception of it, as seen through the ears of a bird..

I'm curious what the range of sounds is that these birds can imitate. That would be a fascinating effort.I wonder how long it takes them to pick up a new sound.

@HOMEnHIGH the chainsaw is not bullshit. I live in Australia and have seen Lyre Birds in the forest. They constantly mimick other noises, just anything that they hear - as demonstrated. There are many places here where rednecks deforest our countryside as quickly as they can. It would be very common for a Lyrebird to have heard a chainsaw. The cameraman may have taken more than a day to capture the bird performing like that.
