@69fastbacklover They were not tracers, it was just the angle the light was siriking the field at that time of morning, 20 minutes later, they were not noticable whatsoever. Besides, US tracers are yellow, not white.

@zagstrukk using tracers at that gun range would be dumb unless you want to pay the govt. to put the fire out

@mag30th i have been busting my balls trying to find one with a scope where the fuck did you get yours i saw some at the gun show today but some asshole was selling it for 4000 while another guy was selling it for 600 but without the scope i want one with a scope

the rifles of the time of ww1 were classics.specially the one who use the bolt action.

I want to try that with a mauser G98. Could be nice!

@viktorgorchev They closed down the 1200 meter range cuz they don't want you guys getting too good when they come to take your guns ;-)

Wish we had a range like that here in the Netherlands. I'm a high-power rifle shooter, but the only ranges nearby are a 100 meters. We have a 300 meter range across the country (like 5 hour drive), and we used to have a 1200 meter military range that was open to civillian shooters, but they closed that down for some reason.

Never gets old seeing a bullet arc like that. Same for the delay between shot and the ringing of steel. Great vid.

@corydmaley Three reasons, 1) the 1903 Springfield has always been one of the finest, and most accurate military rifle ever manufactured, 2) I'm using my own hand loaded match ammunition, and 3) I am the one shooting it. Babe Ruth said if you can do it then it aint bragging. I've been shooting high-powered rifles now for over 30 years; it is one of the few things I'm very good at

how do you get that military grade rifle shooting a thousand yards over a box with a rag on top,and adjust for the wind??????????????

@mag30th what kind of scope are you using?

Hi, I ordered an S&K scope mount for my 1903, but broke the barrel band when installing. There wasn't sufficient space between the front of the mount and the leaf rear sight. I see that your mount had the same problem where you machined the mount face so it would fit. It should also be noted that some stock inletting  is required. Does that inletting hurt the rifle collector value?

@pustakaaristoteles no. this is the M1903. fires either a similar cartridge, or the same cartridge as the M1. this one is bolt action.

im using only a 4X32 with my 03A3, and so far i can hit 750 meters...

Which gun are you using the 1903 with .30-03 Spingfield or you using the 1903 in .30-06?

@mag30th Im not sure but you could may not be so quick to assume it is better. If you've ever read the "Black Devil Brigade", which is a book based on interviews with veterans of the First Special Service Force (the first ever Allied/U.S. elite unit, they will occasionally talk about the supreme quality of the Mauser and how it took the lives of many of their men. The FSSF was a combination of US and Canadian parachute divisions. By the way, It's one of the best books I've ever read, read it.

When the Americans(MARINES) went to war in ww1 they were picking off the Germans@ over 700 yards with this rifle at Bella Woods.

Is that a stock Barrel? I bougt a DOUGLAS for one of mine and it shoots better than just about any rifle out there. When I take it Moose hunting or for Caribou there are a lot of guides and other hunters that ask to take a look at it, I invested over 2grand into it and it is a tack driver at 400 yards. My other stock 03A3s that needed to have the barrels change got the same new Barrels and shoot with stock sights.
